Still no snake

The burned house is nearly all cleared out. All my stuff is in bags and boxes half of it is at my dad’s house and the other is in my mom’s car down in the garage. I have to say I’m awed by my mom. I mean I thought she was a goddess before this but after I saw how well she handled that chaos now I KNOW she’s a demi-goddess at least. Leave me a lot to live up to, no?
So this week one of my best friends (I have two) got a kitten! Her, as in the friend not the cat, name is Gayle and we’ve known each other for five years this coming Christmas. We met on a cheesy little site; Neopets. I check in there once in a while and let me tell you that place has gone to hell in a hand basket. rush delivery.
About the new kitten. They think he is a he and his name is Yuki (that’s Yoo-ky. Not luck yucky). He’s so cute! Fuzzy little white thing with big eyes. Gayle’s so happy and SO infatuated with the little thing.
My cat died recently, February 18th to be exact, right after the fire. He didn’t die in the fire so I’m happy about that but that doesn’t make him any less dead, does it? At least no one else was hurt, though I had a few ill wishes for three people in that house, though I’ll keep my trap shut on their names, those who know me know who I’m talking about.
I started a new short story, based on a poem of mine titled Moon Child, I’m not sure if the computer box made but if it did then it’s on there and when dad hooks it up I’ll put all my poetry and a few of my stories on disks and bring them up here to my moms place.
My moms best friend, Reba, sent me a coffin shaped purse for my birthday, it has a purple winged skull on the front. It’s so cool, now I just need a wallet to put in it and I’ll be all happy and stuff.
I don’t think there’s anything else to report at this time, though I might be able to post twice this week! Happiness.
Signing out now.

Will our hero get a snake? Tune in next time to find out!

Goodness! It was quite a day, I was actually semi-active today.

Mom and I went out early this morning and checked out this horse riding stable down the road a little way and it looked like something out of some horror movie so that was a no go, beside they only did trail rides and I’m more into that running thins, ah well, I’ll find something that suits me, eventually.
After that we went to the pet store on Evergreen and talked to a guy about buying a snake, I don’t think I’ll be getting a snake anytime soon. And I know it may sound really insane but when we were taking Wolfie, my brother, home or coming back from a movie or something with my brother, it seemed that there was this little voice came from my shoulder and said, in a kind of off hand way; “You’re not getting a snake you know.”
And I know that voice, I would know that voice anywhere. That was Sicath, my alter ego (or one of them) my pessimistic, dry, skeptical, sarcastic side that sees right through the fog and tells it how it is.
And she said it, plain and simple as that, and so far she was right. Tomorrow I think I’ll talk to mom and ask her honestly if she thinks I’m going to get a snake.
Moving on, after the pet shop we went to rite aid and the loan place. Mom paid off her loan and we dropped off Eden’s camera or one hour development. Then we trotted ourselves over to Toy’s R Us and picked out a couple of presents for Eden (SHE’S 19 TODAY!!!) then picked up the film and got mom’s hair cut. After that we grabbed some lunch and went home where mom promptly took a nap and I promptly got on the computer.

GASP! They’re remaking the last unicorn! I kid you not! I really home it’s animated, cause if it’s not the director is going to have to please a lot of people with the part of Amalthea. What was really stupid was that a lot of the people had only seen the movie and hadn’t read the book. If they had been talking face to face I think I might have slapped them.

I posted, of course, and was my usual curmudgeon self. Go me. I love being pessimistic. After that I worked on the character sketch of Burakku. You can see it on my other blog.

Next order of business; I also found out that there is a movie based on The Picture of Dorian Grey and that Ryan Phillippe will have the leading roll for that film. I have to read it now so I can point out all the mistakes and annoy everyone endlessly. MUAHAHA!

Now for some news a little closer to home: there’s a creepy guy wandering around my neighborhood. Chris really doesn’t like it and made both mom and me clubs that we can protect ourselves with.
Now I can’t say that I haven’t been in this kind of situation before, I used to live in Oakland, California, but this is the first time it’s happened and I’ve been able to really understand what’s going on so I’m all jittery and such. Ah well, it’ll pass.

I’m going to study the vocabulary mom gave me to help her study for her test and then I’m pooping off to bed to get a good nights sleep, for once. Tomorrow I plan to get up relatively early and go to the school with mom. See ya!

Money on the wind

Joy! Rapture! Relief, most of all. My mom won’t have to sell me to the gypsies! Happiness.
Her progress report was approved and she’ll go pick up her check for three thousand on Monday. Of course by the time her books are bought, her bills are paid and food is bought we’ll only have one thousand dollars to play with but that’s fine with me!
Of course that play money will also be swift to go; mom is buying the seventh installation to the Dark Tower series and, hopefully, buying me a snake! I can’t wait. I’ve been thinking of names all week, probably going to name it after one god or another.
Anyhoo. I’ve been working a lot on Ripples in the Dark; The Red Dove, which tells the story of Alita Sicath, the woman who is, among other things, a stone cold killer. In the prologue, which if five pages long, she kills her lover Asher and that is her tender moment before she becomes a dedicated assassin.
The story is still forming in my mind but I’m thinking it will be a trilogy and, instead of focusing on one character, it will be about three different assassins, one of them being Alita’s own brother, whom she hates.
An interesting story, but nothing worth an award, really it’s just something I pass the time with, as well as reading and stuff and stuff. Anyway I had better stop writing this and get working on my last character sketches.
