Turkish Delight

Been a while since I last graced these pages with my words, huh? It really doesn’t matter. I doubt I get that much traffic anyway but it’s the principal of the matter that irks me. However now I’m here and I’ll write until I’m done writing. Pretty simple.

I won’t bother recapping the last two months as it would be hard for me to remember and it would become a very long entry. I will report today and HOPEFULLY remember to write tomorrow.

I have no bathroom. Well I have a room with a bath in it but we have no toilet and no tub, we have a sink though! Problem is this house only has one bathroom area and the toilet has been REMOVED. When I lived with my dad and the toilet wasn’t working for various reasons (no water pressure, something wrong with the pipes and other like problems) we had two toilets and one of them would work if you filled the tank with water by hand but we did HAVE the facilities so it was all good. (It wasn’t really but that’s the past and that’s where it belongs)

I wouldn’t really mind if we had lost the toilet in summer or spring or even early autumn, that wouldn’t bother me. But right now it’s almost winter and we’re getting down to single digits in the night and up to 15 during the day so… the idea of going outside to relieve myself in the bushes doesn’t sound that appealing to me at this point in time.

Once upon a time I was a rough and tumble girl who didn’t mind going out into the woods with a spoon and a role of toilet paper but now it looks like I’ve become a soft city dweller. Hopefully time won’t suddenly reverse itself and leave me on the last frontier or whatever.

Moving on.

Yesterday my mom, my mom’s boyfriend, and I all went to go see King Kong (during the previews mom and I were chanting the title under our breath while Chris ignored us) and I have to say that movie was FANTASTIC. By far the best movie I’ve seen all year it even kept mom awake throughout the whole thing.

Something you have to understand about my dear mum is that she can fall asleep anywhere, anytime under any circumstance and I’m NOT exaggerating; she fell asleep during the fight scenes of Pirates of the Caribbean, during the explosions of Lost In Space (the remake), she feel asleep –twice- during Sin City! Though she did get to see the whole thing.

So Chris and I were sure she was going to fall asleep during the second half of the movie (which is a whopping three hours long) but it kept her up the entire time. And we went to the seven to ten showing! Not only that but we also got to be there when she said, “My butt doesn’t hurt at all!” Most likely because she was squirming during all the bug parts and I was squirming right along with her. You all can call me a big girls blouse but there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with leaches that can swallow my head with one bite you know?

Next Item of business.

Last night I started and finished The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe in preparation for the movie that I’m hopefully going to go see tomorrow. By the way, it’s not that big of a thing finishing that book in one night; it’s a whopping 188 pages that anyone could breeze through; simple, easy reading that kept me up an hour than my usual bedtime.

Anyway. As I was reading that lovely fantasy (the series is basically my child hood memory wrapped up in paper) it occurred to me that I didn’t know what Turkish Delight was! So I decided to look it up when I woke up.

This is what I found: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkish_Delight

Check it out! It even mentions the scene from the book in the first part small world huh? And a special note to my twin, Nox; Turkish Delight is familiar in BULGARIAN cuisine so… if you want to impress your honey-bun get him some of that!!! She’ll understand.

So that brings you up to the semi present of my life, I hope you enjoyed it. I’m off to bed now so sleep well, don’t bite the bed bugs and if you dream of Turkish Delight I apologize!
